It's important to consider faithfulness in our unique vocations as members of the body of Christ, but what about faithfulness in food, which is an everyday part of being human that we all share? This workshop will start with themes of the biblical narrative and then zoom in on how our tables can be laden with the gospel story of love for God and neighbor...and amazing flavor, too!
Christians are a storytelling people who are called to faithful improvisation within cultures of many competing stories. We'll look at some themes of the story Christians are seeking to continue and then explore what those themes mean for our food choices--including how to be people of grace, rather than people of a new law. Talking about the wide variety of stories behind some specific meals will serve as jumping off points for brainstorming food-related practices that tell a good story through sourcing, preparation, eating, advocacy.
